Dr. Matthew Vial
I am a proud Reno native. I graduated from Bishop Manogue High School in 2010 and went on to pursue my undergraduate education at Gonzaga University in Washington State on academic scholarship. I graduated from Gonzaga in 2014 with a BS in Biology and was inspired to pursue dentistry. Upon completion of my D.M.D. at UNLV School of Dental Medicine, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to join the team at White Pine Family Dental and start working along-side Dr. Mary.
Patient care is very important to me. I genuinely believe that there is a link between oral health and general health and that a beautiful smile can build self-confidence. One of the most rewarding parts of dentistry is getting to know our patients and restoring them to natural function while helping them gain the smile they wish they always had. I am currently performing endodontic (root canal procedures) and oral surgery procedures along with all other facets of general dentistry including resin fillings, crowns, veneers, partial dentures and sleep appliance therapy. Any procedures that are not performed in office are usually performed by our fantastic team of specialists, whom we work closely with.
I feel very passionate about giving back to those in need and have volunteered giving free dentistry to veterans at SGT Ferrin Memorial Veterans Clinic and to children at annual Give Kids a Smile Day events. I am currently a member of the Nevada Dental Society and the Academy of General Dentistry, and am always looking for opportunities to expand on my clinical skills to better serve my patients.
In my spare time I enjoy going outdoors to go on a hike or head to Lake Tahoe, but also enjoy spending time with my wife Nicolette, our dogs Gunner and Scout and our friends. My wife is also a dentist so we are always talking about teeth!
